A free platform helping adults understand whether they might be neurodivergent — and what to do next.
NeuroDiverse People exists because too many adults — particularly women — spend years or decades not understanding why everyday life feels harder for them than it appears to for everyone else. We believe that access to good-quality, evidence-based information about ADHD, autism, and AuDHD should be free, private, and available to everyone.
In the UK, the average waiting time for an NHS adult ADHD assessment can exceed two years in some areas. Autism assessments can take even longer. During that wait, most people have very limited access to information about their traits, what to expect, or how to advocate for themselves.
We built NeuroDiverse People to fill that gap — a free, evidence-based screening tool and resource hub that helps adults make sense of their experiences, understand whether a formal assessment is worth pursuing, and navigate the UK diagnosis system with confidence.
Our screening assessment uses original questions inspired by decades of published neurodevelopmental research, covering ADHD, autism, social camouflaging, and lifespan autistic experience. It is the only free UK tool that screens for all three profiles — ADHD, autism, and AuDHD — in a single adaptive assessment, and the only one that includes a dedicated masking section.
All content is grounded in peer-reviewed research. We cite our sources and distinguish between established evidence and emerging findings.
The quiz runs entirely in your browser. No answers, scores, or personal data are ever stored on any server or shared with any third party.
We are clear that this is a screening tool, not a diagnostic instrument. We never overstate what our assessment can or cannot tell you.
Our content explicitly addresses presentations commonly missed in women, people of colour, and those who mask — groups historically underserved by neurodevelopmental research.
The screening assessment, all articles, and all resources will always be free to access. We are funded by advertising and affiliate links, which are clearly disclosed.
We write for the people who use our site, not for search engines. Our goal is to provide content that is genuinely useful to adults navigating neurodivergent identity.
NeuroDiverse People covers three neurodevelopmental conditions in depth:
We also cover the UK diagnosis pathway in depth — including NHS referral, Right to Choose, and private assessment options — because understanding how to access support is as important as understanding your traits.
The NeuroDiverse People screening assessment is an adaptive tool that adjusts based on your early answers. It covers four sections:
All questions are original content written for this platform. The tool is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a reproduction of any published diagnostic instrument. It is not a substitute for formal clinical assessment.
All articles published on NeuroDiverse People are written with reference to peer-reviewed research. Where we cite specific studies, we include full references. We are transparent about the limitations of the evidence base and avoid making claims that exceed what the research supports.
If you believe any content on this site contains inaccurate information, please contact us and we will review it promptly.
NeuroDiverse People is funded through two revenue streams, both of which are clearly disclosed on the site:
NeuroDiverse People is an information and screening resource only. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. All content is for general informational purposes. Always seek the advice of a qualified clinician regarding any questions you may have about a medical condition. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you have read on this site.
